Men’s Wild Game Dinner – Saturday, Jan. 26, 6:00pm. Guys, plan now to bring your favorite wild game and/or favorite side or dessert to share. Invite a friend to come. World Champion Turkey Caller Billy Yargus will be our guest speaker. Please see the bulletin board for more information.

Scholarship Opportunities – Attention college students! There are scholarships available through our church and through the Baptist Foundation of Illinois.  Please contact the church office if you wish to apply for our church college scholarship.  You must apply online for the BFI scholarships at www.baptistfoundationil.org.  The deadline to apply for these scholarships is January 31, 2019.  Don’t miss this great opportunity!

Adult Valentine Party – Mark your calendars for Saturday, Feb. 9 at 6pm. Couples and singles are both invited. The cost is $15 per person and includes dinner at the Bean Time Café. Please sign up on the bulletin board and pay by Wednesday, Jan. 23. The two entrée choices will be Lasagna or Meatloaf.  See Bonnie Sinclair or Penny Snyder for more info and to pay.

Priority Women’s Conference - April 26-27 at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield. The cost is only $30. T-shirts are also available for just $5 with an early bird registration, which ends Feb. 14. See Becky Bergner for more details and to sign up.

Menard County Food Pantry – Your donations of non-perishable food items are always welcome and appreciated as we partner with this local community ministry! Volunteers are also needed to serve on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3. If you’re interested, please see Keith for more info.

Offering Envelopes – Your gifts to the First Baptist Church are greatly appreciated and intentionally used to further the message of Jesus. Did you know that your gifts are also tax-deductible? When you give using offering envelopes we will provide you with a year-end Contribution Statement for your tax records. Boxes of offering envelopes are available from the church office, or pick one up from the table in the foyer.

Bible Reading Challenge for 2019 – Gain wisdom for the journey as you follow Christ. 1. Read one chapter in Proverbs each day. 2. Highlight and meditate on one verse that jumps out at you. 3. Commit this verse to memory, to prayer, and to practice. And you’ll soon be choosing to walk more faithfully in the way of wisdom in the New Year!
